Coogee is just moments away from the city centre, but far enough away to be able to relax and enjoy yourself at the beach with all the conveniences for a comfortable stay.

We have a FREE weekly BBQ but if you can’t last a week without food then there are many fine cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. The Number 1 pub in NSW the “CBH” (as it’s known) - Coogee Bay Hotel regularly features LIVE BANDS and at the Beach Palace there are Promo drink and retro nights which makes for plenty of after dark fun.

Our Resident Managers can assist those of you wishing to experience not only Coogee but also Sydney’s nightlife at its best. They have spent many hours investigating and researching to find the best pubs, bars and clubs in town. Save time and use their extensive knowledge as they have worked very hard to obtain first hand knowledge of the latest and greatest IN and HAPPENING SPOTS.

After you recover from the night before why not go for a swim or learn to surf at the beach. Not feeling energetic enough then just soak up some rays and work on your tan. Soccer matches are organised against rival hostels so why not partake in a few games or just come along to cheer us on. When you can muster enough energy why not take a walk along the coastal trails to other great local beaches like Maroubra, Bronte, Tamarama, and Bondi. Take some snorkelling gear to Gordon’s Bay only 5 minutes walk to experience some underwater magic; you may even be lucky enough to spot a whale coasting by our shores. For the more adventurous enrol in a diving course.

We are only a short bus ride away from the City and Harbour attractions like the Harbour Bridge (climb it), Opera House (take in a show), Darling Harbour (party place) City Centre (shop till you drop) Star City Casino (spend or win $$) and Fox Studios (movies & stars). Major Sporting Venues for Soccer, Football, Cricket, Aussie Rules, Rugby and Horse Racing are just 5 minutes away. Check out the Zoo, take a ferry to Manly and experience the best harbour in the world. See wildlife; visit parks, museums, galleries and gardens.
